Every civilization has invented stories to explain dawn, storms, eclipses, and changing seasons. Every civilization was wrong. The world is held together by a single unconscious dreamer. Not an ancient god. Not a machine. A little girl who has never slept through an entire night. Whenever she drifts toward sleep, morning begins somewhere on Earth. When nightmares wake her, hurricanes change course. Her laughter brings unexpected spring. Her exhaustion stretches sunsets for days. The weather services call them anomalies. Astronomers blame solar activity. Governments deny the patterns exist. She knows none of it. She believes she simply has insomnia. Far beyond the known world stands the Lighthouse at the Edge of Sleep—a structure that exists between waking and dreaming. Its keepers once protected the Dreamer, but the lighthouse has been dark for centuries. Now something ancient has noticed impossible disturbances. It cannot see the child. It cannot name her. It only knows that somewhere the Dreamer lives... unguarded. Every unexplained sunrise is another clue. Every sleepless night brings it closer.
